Hôtel Barrière L'Hermitage - a dream hotel directly on the beach
The Hotel Barriere L'Hermitage is located in a magnificent bay on the Atlantic coast is simply beautiful! We spontaneously arrived at this section because we were travelling in Brittany and saw on the map how good the weather is in La Baule and then spontaneously decided to enjoy the sun for a few days in this wonderful place and already in advance: it was so much the right decision!

I love hotels that combine pool and beach in close proximity. Unfortunately this is often hard to find. At the Hôtel Barrière L'Hermitage, however, this is perfectly realized. The pool is located directly at the back of the hotel. If you have had enough of the pool atmosphere (you never have enough of it!), then you can reach the beach in less than two minutes via a small path through the Beach Bar. The friendly staff will welcome you directly and for a whole day you can get a padded lounger with parasol for about 20 Euro. My absolute recommendation. If you get hungry or thirsty, the Beach Bar is right behind you and you can order and be served at the place.
A heated pool with fresh salt water
The pool in Hôtel Barrière L'Hermitage is a feast for the eyes. Wonderfully tempered and equipped with fresh salt, you will find easy access to the water at the head of the pool. The pool gets deeper towards the back. So not only adults can do their rounds in the pool, but also children can splash around in a relaxed manner. The pool offers a lot of space for swimming and playing. Around the pool there are padded sunbeds and parasols that can be used freely. At all times there was a lifeguard next to the pool who can help immediately in case of an emergency. I find this a wonderful service.
White sand on the beach like in a dream
When we first arrived at the beach, I could hardly believe how wonderfully white and fine this sand is. You feel like being in the Caribbean. I lay down on my lounger and first of all I put my fingers into the warm sand and let the sand trickle through my fingers. Simply a pleasure. There is always a warm, but still a bit strong wind at the Atlantic, so don't underestimate the sun and apply cream directly!
Breakfast at the Hôtel Barrière L'Hermitage
If you visit the hotel, make sure you treat yourself to breakfast! The buffet is simply so rich and delicious. You get a small tray and then you can start. From fresh pancakes, omelettes, baked goods, fruits, cheese, salmon, smoothies and juices to delicious coffee variations, the breakfast buffet offers simply everything. Let yourself be pampered directly and start the day strengthened. I also found it especially nice that it was possible to have breakfast outside on the terrace in the bright sunshine. I directly had a little bit of sun in my face and sniffed the fresh sea air.
